Christmas Holidays in Seefeld

The Christmas period in the mountains is a special part of the year.

A time for peace, the family, a cosy atmosphere, all surrounded by the beautiful white mountain scenery. We all look forward to the first snowfalls.

The Seefeld Advent Market offers authentic products and typical Tyrolean delicacies. It's a lovely place to visit.

The Hotel Olympia has already been decorated. Plenty of candles, pine branches and pinecones of all shapes and sizes, yuletide scents and spices, and, in the background, a crackling fire and soft seasonal music.

The invitation to our Christmas celebration is already on the breakfast tables and for the special Christmas Eve menu, for which we request a booking. Almost all guests eat in the hotel on this special evening.

On the 23.12. we invite all the children to decorate the Christmas tree, which is set up by Grandad. It's time to take the carefully-packed decorations out of the cellar and make the tree come alive with candles, straw stars, angels and glass balls.

On the 24.12. the first item on the agenda is a good breakfast. Today something special is in the air. The atmosphere is festive. After breakfast there is heaps to do as all the tables have to be prepared and decorated for the evening.

At 18.00 all of our guest, our staff and our family meet in the fireside room. After a welcome, we have readings and stories about the sense, the history and the customs of Christmas. Our children Elias and Marcel play guitar and flute. Sometimes some our guests join in with their own instruments. Images and appropriate text are projected onto the wall. Peace rules.

Afterwards everyone present is asked to write their Christmas thoughts on a golden star and to place it on the Christmas tree. The "hanging thoughts" look lovely on the branches. Finally we sing "Silent Night". Our children share small presents and we wish one another MERRY CHRISTMAS.

All of our guests join us in the dining room for a five-course festive menu. After dessert we serve the small but much-loved Christmas cookies from Grandma. The evening finishes with everyone chatting to one another.
